How to Pack Fragile Items for Shipping?

How to Pack Fragile Items – Simple Guide

✅

1. Choose the Right Box

  • Use a strong, double-layer cardboard box.
  • Make sure it’s slightly larger than the item, so there’s room for cushioning

✅

2. Wrap Each Item Carefully

  • Wrap each fragile item in bubble wrap or foam.
  • Use multiple layers if the item is delicate (like glass or ceramics).
  • Tape the wrap to keep it secure.

✅

3. Add Cushioning Inside the Box

  • Place foam peanuts, air pillows, or crumpled paper at the bottom.
  • Put the wrapped item in the center.
  • Fill all empty space around the item with more cushioning.

✅

4. Seal the Box Securely

  • Use strong packing tape.
  • Tape all seams and edges in an ''H'' pattern.

✅

5. Label the Box

  • Stick ''FRAGILE'' labels on all sides.
  • Also add ''THIS SIDE UP'' if needed.

✈️ For Air Freight:

  • Use lightweight materials.
  • Double-box for extra protection.
  • Avoid loose items inside the box.

🚢 For Sea Freight:

  • Wrap items in waterproof plastic.
  • Add desiccant packs (like silica gel).
  • Use wooden crates or very strong boxes.
  • Seal with water-resistant tape and labels.

📦 Warehouse Storage Tips:

  • Always place on a pallet — never directly on the floor.
  • Do not stack heavy items on top.
  • Keep fragile items on top and clearly marked.

🎯 Final Tip:

''If it can move, it can break.''

Make sure your item is packed tight, cushioned well, and clearly labeled.
